School Transport - First Aid Course

This training course has been designed for Passenger Assistants on School Transport routes for Hampshire County Council.  It covers basic first aid plus asthma, epilepsy/seizures and anaphylactic.

Training Expectations and Requirements

During the training, active participation is essential, as assessment will take place throughout the session. You will be expected to demonstrate practical skills, including the ability to get down onto the floor to perform CPR. If you have a temporary condition that affects mobility, reasonable adjustments can be made; however, this physical capability is a core requirement of the role, particularly in emergency situations.

A good standard of English is also necessary to ensure you can understand the trainer, communicate effectively with your student(s) and in rare cases the emergency services/schools.

Please note: If the trainer identifies any concerns regarding your performance or suitability during the training, they are required to record a fail and escalate the matter to the Passenger Assistant team.

PLEASE NOTE if you arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of the course you will not be able to join the course that day and will need to re-book.
