Stitch By Stitch: A Relaxing Journey into Crochet

Chandler’s Ford Library

Thursday 11th, 18th, 25th September and 2nd October 2025

10.00am to 12.30pm

To introduce the benefits of crochet as a tool for relaxation so learners can slow down, connect with their creativity, and enjoy the process of making.

Learning Goals:

  • Demonstrate how to use a crochet hook and yarn to perform at least 2 basic stitches
  • Apply a simple sewing method to a crochet project
  • Create a functional buttonhole
  • Create a granny square pouch by the end of the course
  • Self evaluate how practising crochet can support personal wellbeing

About the course: Crochet has the power to enhance your mental wellbeing by fostering creativity, focus and a sense of accomplishment. The familiar curve of the hook, the challenge of a new stitch, and the pulse of a regular row can absorb hours of worry and quiet negative thoughts in an instant.
