'The Lucky House Detective Agency' with children's author Lui Sit - Basingstoke Discovery Centre - Tuesday 28th October 2025 - 11.00am

Join Hong-Kong born author Lui Sit who will be talking about her author journey, the inspiration for the Lucky House Detective Agency, a bit about the book itself and aspects of Chinese culture covered in the story.

The talk is approximately 30 minutes with an additional 10-15 minutes for Q & A. Suitable for ages 7+. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Lui Sit writes children’s fiction, adult short fiction, and non-fiction. Her children’s contemporary adventure book– Land of the Last Wildcat – was Waterstones Children’s May 2025 Book of the Month and is shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize.

She is also the author of The Lucky House Detective Agency, a cosy crime children’s book which she writes as Scarlett Li.

She was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Australia and now lives in London with her family and moody cat. She is happiest in the sea, a forest or a library.

The sessions are offered for free to all as part of Hampshire Libraries use of The South East Strategic Partnership for Migration (SESPM) fund.
