Trading boat visiting licence

You can bring a trading boat (eg: fuel trader) registered on another Navigation Authority’s waters onto the Basingstoke Canal as a visiting boat for a maximum of 28 days.

You need to purchase a Trading Boat Visitor Licence, hold appropriate insurance, and comply with the Boat Safety Scheme for the full duration of your stay.

You must provide a copy of your insurance certificate / boat safety information either at the time of booking or when meeting the duty Lock Keeper at Lock 1.

Please remember to book your passage through the locks with the Canal Office, and show your order confirmation to the Lock Keeper.
