Wildflower Meadows Watercolour and Illustration workshop with Jacky

To introduce the subject/theme, media and techniques of traditional and experiential watercolour and drawing/illustration. This workshop is for beginners and/or anyone with a passion for watercolour, painting, drawing and natural forms (plants and flora)
Learning Goals:
- Identify and explore examples of how other artists have created wildflower meadow inspired watercolour and illustration artwork Informal group discussion and examples provided)
- Identify and apply 2D visual language; composition, colour theory and formal elements within traditional and experimental watercolours, to create samples and finished artwork
- Identify, select and use a variety of traditional and experimental drawing and painting media, tools, techniques and processes to create mounted and finished artwork
- Discuss and review your own practice and continue to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of watercolours in future workshops and/or courses
About the course: This is an exciting introduction to the world of both traditional and experimental watercolours and illustration. You will be introduced to the subject theme and then taken through a step by step process, guiding you through the identification, selection and application of watercolour media, techniques and processes to create exciting and fun mounted and finished artwork.
Who is this course for: This workshop is aimed at beginners or anyone who has a keen interest in drawing, painting and watercolours. However because it is both traditional and experimental in nature it may appeal to those with some experience of the technique or wanting to expand their existing skills and knowledge within this area of art
Previous knowledge or experience: No previous experience or knowledge required as you will be taught the skills and techniques required within the workshop
How will I learn: Learning will take place as an introduction and demonstration by the tutor to the theme/subject with examples provided and descriptions of the media and techniques used in the creation of both traditional and experimental watercolour artwork. Learners will engage visually and practically in the workshop to create exciting finished and mounted artwork using both traditional and experimental media and techniques
How will I be assessed: Informal Q and A throughout the workshop and practical application and development
What shall I bring: Please bring £10 for materials, an apron or wear old clothing. Materials will be provided
Next steps: You may want to explore this subject in further detail through a follow up art based workshop or course. Or to develop your own art based skills, knowledge and understanding independently
If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made:
- 21 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued
- 7 - 20 working days before course starts a £10 admin fee will be charged
- Less than 7 working days before the course starts no refund will be made
Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
