Winter Landscape: Beyond White

Create an atmospheric winter landscape using acrylic paints.

Learning Goals:

• Describe the importance of challenging composition
• Identify the role colour plays in evoking depth and atmosphere, avoiding over using white
• Use contrast dramatically
• Apply a variety of mark making tools effectively
• Create a unique outcome
• Demonstrate an individual approach

Who is this course for: Acrylic and landscape enthusiasts.

Previous knowledge or experience: Previous experience useful but not vital. All learners will be supported to achieve.

How will I learn: Visual examples and tutor demonstration. Our group sizes are small, allowing for lots of 1:1 and individual, personalised support.

How will I be assessed: Self-assessment, supportive peer to peer evaluation

What shall I bring: A canvas or canvas board, A4 or square equivalent. You may wish to prime this first. A loose idea of your intended composition. Some initial picture research may help. Some acrylic paints and brushes.

If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made:

• 21 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued
• 7 - 20 working days before course starts a £10 admin fee will be charged
• Less than 7 working days before the course starts no refund will be made
