Workboat licence - month

You can bring a work boat (eg: tug, crane barge) registered on another Navigation Authority’s waters onto the Basingstoke Canal as a visiting boat for a maximum duration of 28 days or the duration of any works agreed by the BCA.

You need to purchase a Work Boat Visitor Licence, hold appropriate insurance, and comply with the Boat Safety Scheme for the full duration of your stay.

You must provide a copy of your insurance certificate / boat safety information either at the time of booking or when meeting the duty Lock Keeper at Lock 1.

Please remember to book your passage through the locks with the Canal Office, and show your order confirmation to the Lock Keeper.
