Write for You: Creative Writing for Wellbeing and Enjoyment

An introduction to creative writing for personal enjoyment and wellbeing where you will learn different techniques and tools to help you relax and express yourself creatively through words.
Learning Goals:
- Draw on creative writing techniques with inspiration from the world around you to support mindfulness and self-care.
- Explore writing from different points of view and experiment with changing perspectives.
- Write at least three short creative pieces in different forms to develop your skills.
- Build confidence to start or develop your own writing.
Who is this course for: This course, funded by UK government, is for Hampshire residents aged 19+ who want to discover how to write creatively for their own enjoyment and wellbeing.
Previous knowledge or experience: No experience/skills in creative writing or grammar required.
How will I learn: Through tutor-led writing prompts and activities, reflection and discussion, working individually and in a supportive group setting.
How will I be assessed: Informal tutor observation and individual work.
What shall I bring: A notebook or paper and pen or pencil: you are encouraged to write by hand, if possible, but laptops are acceptable.
Next steps: continuing personal development in similar classes, at home or online; further courses in creative writing craft.
This course, funded by Hampshire Achieves, is aimed at Hampshire residents aged 19+. Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have. If you have limited mobility which could affect your ability to safely self-evacuate, please let us know when booking.
